OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS

1. OAHU GRAND CIRCLE ISLAND TOUR (DAY 3 - OAHU)

​Visit Oahu’s most scenic and cultural sights in a single day.  This exciting excursion includes the key sites of Hawaii’s most visited island.

Tour Highlights:

  • Amelia Earhart Lookout – commemorates the first person to fly solo from Hawaii to the US mainland

  • Exclusive Kahala Avenue – known as “Hawaii’s Beverly Hills”

  • Hanauma Bay Lookout (temporarily closed) – The bay was formed within a volcanic cone. It is a popular snorkeling spot (a stop here depends on available parking)

  • Halona Blowhole – an ocean-driven geyser (a stop here depends on available parking)

  • Nu’uanu Pali Lookout – the location of the 1795 battle in which King Kamehameha united Oahu under his rule and this is one of Oahu’s most breathtaking scenic points

  • Byodo-In Temple – a stunning replica of a temple in Uji, Japan that commemorates the first Japanese immigrants in Hawaii

  • Chinaman’s Hat – an islet in Kaneohe Bay aptly named for the cone-shaped hat worn by Chinese immigrants

  • North Shore Surfing Beaches – the North Shore is known for its fabulously large wintertime waves and international surfing competitions

  • Historic Haleiwa Town – this town has a surf town image and old plantation character

  • Dole Plantation – learn about Hawaii’s pineapple history and perhaps try a delicious, ice-cold Dole Whip treat

2. DELUXE SNORKEL AND BBQ ADVENTURE (DAY 6 - THE BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII)

Start the morning aboard a catamaran on a Kona snorkeling cruise where you can get up close with Kona’s ocean wildlife. There is an excellent chance of dolphin and other marine mammal sightings while cruising to the snorkel site.

This 4.5 hour cruise includes:

  • Continental breakfast with soda, juice

  • Lunch and snacks

  • Approximately 2 hours of snorkeling time in pristine waters

  • Snorkel gear and instruction

  • Life vests and other flotation devices

  • Reef-safe sunscreen

All you need is your bathing suit, towel and sunglasses!

 

Departure and Return:

Tour departs from Kailua Pier at approximately 8 a.m. (arrive at 7:30 a.m.) and returns to the Kailua Pier at approximately 12:30 p.m.

3. HELICOPTER TOUR OF KAUAI

(DAY 9 - KAUAI)

Experience the breathtaking scenery of Kauai from above. Witness the stunning Na Pali Coast, Waimea Canyon, and numerous waterfalls, many of which can only be accessed by air.

Included:

  • Approximately 55 minutes in the air over one of the most beautiful islands in the world

 

Departure and Return:

Times will vary. Transportation to and from the heliport is on your own. The heliport is 10 minutes from Kauai Shores Hotel by taxi.

4. ROAD TO HANA TOUR
(DAY 11 - MAUI)

Explore the Road to Hana. It is one of the world’s most spectacular scenic drives marked by stunning waterfalls, lush rainforests, tiny bridges and gorgeous black sand beaches.

 

Tour Highlights:

  • Pa’ia Town – the “windsurfing capital of the world”

  • Kaumahina State Park – see the awe-inspiring coastline views

  • Upper Waikani Falls – view three parallel waterfalls and one of the most photographed sites on the trip

  • Ke’anae Peninsula – this peninsula was created by flowing lava and juts into the ocean, where waves crash against jagged black volcanic rocks

  • Pua’a Ka’a State Park – an ideal spot to swim in tranquil waterfall pools, conditions permitting (bring towel and bathing suit)

  • Wai’anapanapa State Park and Black Sand Beach – a magnificent site with striking ocean views

  • Hana Bay – view while driving through the Hana Town

5. HALEAKALA SUNRISE TOUR
(DAY 11 - MAUI)

Enjoy a stunning sunrise above the clouds at the top of Mount Haleakala, a dormant volcano. The summit is known as the “House of the Sun”. At more than 10,000 feet/3000 metres high, you will have an amazing vantage point to watch the sunrise. This experience is one of the most sought-after experiences in the islands. 

After viewing the sunrise, enjoy a delicious local style breakfast at Kula Lodge with its upcountry hospitality and breathtaking views of the West Maui Mountains before returning to Ka’anapali Beach Hotel.

Due to high altitudes, this tour is NOT RECOMMENDED for people with heart or respiratory conditions that may be exacerbated due to high altitude.

NOT RECOMMENDED for people who have gone scuba diving within 72 hours of starting this tour.

DRESS WARMLY! The temperatures can go below the freezing mark at the top of Haleakala!
