WHAT ARE THE AVERAGE AGES OF PEOPLE TRAVELLING ON A TOUR?

This group tour has been specifically designed for ‘the not too young and not too old’.  Our tour is geared for people aged 45-75. However, people younger than 45 and older than 75 can also enjoy this tour. So, you’ll find we never discriminate on the basis of age.
We also recognize that some travellers may find some itineraries challenging. Please check the Activity Level tab for more information about the activity level of our tours.

CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN ON TOUR WITH ME?

Yes, provided your children are 19 years of age and over.

CAN I START MY TOUR LATER OR FINISH EARLIER?

Yes, you can, but the standard package price will still apply.

CAN I CHOOSE TO DO JUST A ‘PART’ OF A GROUP TOUR?

Unfortunately, this is not possible.

ARE MEALS INCLUDED ON TOUR?

Many of your meals are included on your tour and these will be specified on your itinerary and are listed on our website. We include many meals but not all so that you can sample some local cuisine on your own and experience the local culture.

WHAT DINING OPTIONS DO I HAVE WHERE MEALS AREN’T INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM?

Your tour guide is your best resource when it comes to ‘where to eat’ as they can recommend restaurants/cafes in the local area. Alternatively, if you wish to stay in, why not dine at the hotel’s restaurant.

MY ITINERARY SAYS WE HAVE AN EARLY START, WILL I STILL GET BREAKFAST AS IT IS INCLUDED?

On the tours we do have a few early starts to make the most of sightseeing on some days. Breakfast is included daily, and your guide will always make sure that the hotel provides breakfast for you.

WHAT STANDARD OF HOTELS DO YOU USE ON YOUR TOURS?

On our tours we use good quality 3-4-star hotels. Rather than concentrate solely on star ratings and creature comforts, we choose our hotels based on the following criteria: cleanliness, great service, atmosphere and location.

DO THE ROOMS HAVE COFFEE AND TEA FACILITIES?

Some hotels we use on the tour may include tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, but as we choose our hotel based on location there are always local cafes and restaurants close by to enjoy a coffee.

ARE THERE GOING TO BE HAIR DRYERS IN MY HOTEL ROOM?

It is not always guaranteed that you will have a hair dryer in your room. If you are reliant on a hair dryer, we recommend you purchase a travel-size hair dryer before you leave to bring along with you. These are often quite cheap, compact and powerful.

I AM TRAVELLING WITH A GROUP OF FRIENDS; CAN WE ALL BE ROOMED CLOSE TOGETHER?

Although we cannot always guarantee rooms being close together, we can request this with our local operators. Please let your agent know at time of booking if you have any special requests.

THERE ARE 3 OF US TRAVELLING TOGETHER, CAN WE BE ROOMED TOGETHER?

Due to our contracted rates with our ground operators and for the comfort of all guests, we are not able to offer triple share rooms.

DO I HAVE TO BE PHYSICALLY FIT IN ORDER TO TRAVEL ON THIS TOUR?

These tours do require a certain level of fitness and mobility. Please see Activity Level tab.

I HAVE SPECIFIC DIETARY REQUIREMENTS; CAN I STILL TRAVEL ON THESE TOURS?

Of course, but please inform your agent at time of booking so our local operators can be informed, and preparations made in time for your travels.

HOW DO YOUR PAYMENTS WORK? I.E. DEPOSIT/FINAL

Generally, there are two payments for multi-day tours – a deposit and a final payment. Day trips require full payment upon booking. Please refer to our terms & conditions to view the payment details.

WHAT IS MY BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE?

Due to limited coach capacity, a single bag is allowed with dimensions not exceeding 157 cm (length + width + height) and weight not exceeding 23 kg. Carry-on hand luggage is restricted to one piece per person. Carry-on luggage handling is the responsibility of each guest and must be taken on and off the coach by you each day of the tour. Airlines may charge fees for checked luggage. CanXplore is not responsible for additional fees imposed by air carriers regarding luggage.

IS SEAT ROTATION REQUIRED DURING THE TOURS?

For longer durations, seats are rotated on the coach at the direction of the Tour Director. Although we try our best to accommodate every one, requests are never guaranteed.

CAN I EXTEND MY STAY?

Yes, however, if you arrange to remain at a destination before or after your tour, your stay will be at your sole expense, as is the transfer to either the hotel or airport. CanXplore does not provide complimentary transfers for guests booking pre- and post-night accommodations. If your extra night accommodations are not at the hotel where your tour begins or ends, you will be responsible for your transfer arrangements at your own expense.
