Our tour guide, Cathy, is from Newfoundland so had all the local knowledge to put together a great visit, and had a lot of local information to pass on to us. She certainly managed to pack as many of the local attractions as possible into our ten-day trip. We loved the wild scenery and all the wildlife especially, but enjoyed the urban areas too. So glad we did this unforgettable trip.

A super fun filled tour!
SO many great experiences! Seeing puffins up close in Bonavista, whales, eagles, dolphins, a delicious lobster dinner, such scenic land and/ or water adventures every day, the Home Away stories in Gander, the happy music and local food of Newfoundland, the wonderful friendly people.
Cathy was our leader extraordinaire! Everyday was well planned, comfortable and fun. Cathy is THE BEST!

We had a wonderful 10 day trip and group tour of Newfoundland with CanXplore!!
Our Tour Director, Cathy was very professional and did an excellent job organizing the trip. She is very knowledgeable and informative and provided us with a very detailed itinerary. This was our first time visiting Newfoundland and we loved the small group tour experience. We would highly recommend this tour!!!

10 wonderful days in Newfoundland

Stunning mountain ranges, charming fishing villages, puffins, dolphins, whales, jellybean houses...all these sights and more were part of a wonderful 10 days in Newfoundland. Tour Director Cathy was super organized and provided us with lots of information, supplemented by excellent local guides. I will never forget our day in Gander. I sampled the yummy chowder at every opportunity. I went home with a deep appreciation of the beauty of this province and the challenges facing its people.

Wonderful Newfoundland Experience

I can’t pick one thing that wasn’t great. The whole experience was fabulous. I’ve never done an organized tour but will definitely do another one, Cathy nailed it and the experience was great. Fun filled packed days and a lot too see. I would never have seen any where near what we saw. Great job and the other guests were great as well. Really liked the small group.

Everything was fabulous--the journey, the history (cod) the stops (Gros Morn, Gander), the scenery (Cape Spear) the lighthouses, the restaurants, the cruises, the entertainment (Anchors Aweigh). Cathy is so organized- I saw way more than if I had tried to organize on my own. Enjoyed my first small group tour experience with lovely people.

How to choose? The scenery was amazing from beginning to end. Seeing the puffins both up close and in the thousands was breathtaking and so special. The local tour guides at the various locations such as Gander and Trinity were exceptional. The boat tours were fun and educational. We enjoyed the free time in St. John's where we ate at an outdoor tapas café, visited the cathedral and had the best pizza ever.
I was inspired when I got home to make my own ugly stick...so fun.

Amazing Newfoundland experience

This was an exceptionally well organized tour that hit all the highlights of Newfoundland. Not only did it include knowledgeable tour guides to inform us of the sights we were seeing but the excursions and entertainment really added to the experience. The small group size was perfect and the local cuisine wonderful. You can't help but fall in love with Newfoundland and the people! Well worth it.

Absolutely fabulous tour to Newfoundland! So we’ll organized and full of awesome sights. Everything was so well thought out, from the accommodations, tours, and food. A bus trip and tour across Newfoundland with Cathy was a great experience. Entertainment, boat tours, food, accommodation, scenery - all 100%. We packed many experiences into our 10 days! Gros Morne and Gander are in our top ten places to see. The warm hospitality is also an experience! Highly recommended! Looking forward to another Tour with Cathy, as she takes care of all the details.

My outstanding first trip to Newfoundland !

I would have trouble choosing a favourite part of my trip to Newfoundland with CanXplore . Cathy was an outstanding tour guide who made this an amazing trip by providing opportunities to learn about Newfoundland's history and to share in local events and fun. She explained completely ,in advance, what the trip would entail which was very helpful. Her local knowledge added so much to the various stops we made on the bus trip. I liked the fact that she offered suggestions re: favourite restaurants and shops which were helpful when we had time to wander on our own .
The bus company she chose was #1 in comfort , cleanliness and our driver was so friendly and had many helpful suggestions as well.
I would recommend one of Cathy's CanXplore trips to anyone and will definitely be taking another one myself !
